IMBB collaborates with the University of Crete in Post-Graduate studies providing to M.Sc. and Ph.D. candidates scientific guidance, fellowships, infrastructure and laboratory space. This collaboration has been running since 1985, it is very successful and offers a highly attractive Graduate opportunity to students from Greece.

Currently IMBB is a full participant in the Graduate Program in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine (MBB) and some of its members participate in the Protein Biotechnology Program, the Molecular Basis of Human Disease, the Graduate program in Neuroscience, the Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

International Outreach
Training programmes at IMBB have attracted several foreign students and postdocs. Competitive grants from the EU (TMR, Marie-Curie, ITN), international (HFSP, EMBO and FEBS) and national (Greek State Fellowships Foundation, General Secretariat of Research and technology) programmes have supported more than 80 PhDs, postdocs and trainees on short visits. IMBB faculty actively participate in international training programmes such as the European Master's in Molecular Imaging, maintain ties with and lecture in foreign PhD programmes (EMBL, Univ. of Cambridge, Univ. of Stuttgart-Hohenheim) and train Erasmus students at the University of Crete. International workshops and summer schools are regularly being organized on specialized topics (e.g. Microscopy, Inflamation and Cancer, Protein Biotechnology, EMBO workshop on Protein Crystallography, Proteomics, etc.).
