Description
Biosensors lab, equipped with commercially available optical and acoustic sensing instruments as well as home-made SAW and hybrid SPR/SAW-based measuring systems, are set for performing real time analysis of biomolecular interactions. Studied interactions include protein-protein, cellular receptor/ligand and DNA/DNA or DNA/protein systems. Information obtained includes affinity and kinetic parameters of the binding reaction, thickness of bound bio-film and information on the conformation of bound molecules. In addition to the above surface-sensitive techniques, solution-based biomolecular interactions are studied using standard biochemical fluorescent and colorimetric assays.
