2006

September, 6-8 . Drs. K. Petratos, D. Leonidas and E. Kapetaniou participated in the first TID-Centre meeting in Grenoble, France.

October, 17-19 Dr. E. Kapetaniou participated in a workshop at Oulu, Finland entitled data collection. Dr. E. Kapetaniou also participated in an initial meeting on DNA software documentation.

2007

January-April , Acquire computers and peripherals to develop the necessary infrastructure for both Heraklion and Athens stations of the Greek TID-center

February 19-22, Dr. Gessmann participated in the third annual BIOXHIT meeting at Diamond, Oxford , UK . A poster entitled: "Greek TID-center for BIOXHIT" was presented. Dr. Gessmann also participated in the meeting of the four TID centres with the TID committee, chaired by Dr. Sine Larsen.

March 16-23, Dr. Evangelia G. Kapetaniou participated in the TID-Centres' meeting in Grenoble , France .

May, Dr. Renate Gessmann has created and updated our WWW-site, documenting our TID-activities.

May 7-11, Dr. Kapetaniou participated in the workshop in Oulu on modern data collection and refinement protocols. Thereby, a quick tutorial of version 1.1 of DNA software was presented by the authors.

September 10, Soleil, Paris
Meeting of the BIOXHIT TID centres. Report on the activities of the Greek TID Centre by Kyriacos Petratos. A DNA manual prepared with contributions from the Finnish and Greek TID centres

November 15, Tele-conference between the Greek TID-centre (Heraklion) and Dr. Olof Svensson (ESRF). Demonstration of the operation of Beamline ID14H3 of ESRF using ‘DNA' and ‘Sample Changer 3'.

November 16, A local demonstration in Heraklion of ‘DNA' program took place in the computer room of the crystallography groups using the TID-center's infrastructure.

December, Acquire the Cryo-crystallography apparatus (Molecular Dimensions Ltd.) necessary to prepare and ship frozen protein crystals to Synchrotron sites for data collection using instruments and software developed by BIOXHIT partners.

2008

January 28, A pipeline test run was done at the ESRF. The usage of eHTPX was also tested. Much appreciated discussions with the ESRF-staff were part of the follow-up on the next day after the data collection run. Drs. Gessmann and Kapetaniou participated in this experiment along with the other TID representatives.

April 16-19, DESY, Hamburg .
4th Annual BIOXHIT Meeting. Kyriacos Petratos participates and presents the progress of the Greek TID-Center.

June 23-25, FORTH , Heraklion.
BIOXHIT course ‘From Crystals to Structures' on Crystallization, Diffraction Data Collection, Processing and Phasing.
13 invited distinguished speakers and instructors from both Heraklion and Athens sites of the Greek TID center will present and explain in practice the recent advances of biological crystallography. 20 young investigators from Greece and the wider Balkan region are expected to participate.
