Funding Opportunities

Call for applications for HFSP Research Grants.

Research Grants provided by the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP)
support basic research in the life sciences with emphasis placed on novel,
innovative and interdisciplinary approaches involving scientific exchanges
across national boundaries. In particular, HFSP aims to encourage research
into biological problems with the involvement of other disciplines such as
chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering, as well
as new disciplines like bioinformatics and nanoscience. HFSP supports only
international, collaborative teams.

The new guidelines for the next round of research grants are now available
on the HFSP web site at http://www.hfsp.org/how/appl_forms_RG.htm.
Applicants must first submit a letter of intent online with a deadline of
April 2nd 2003. These will be subject to peer review to decide which teams
will be invited to submit full applications. Full applications will be due
mid-september for awards to be made in March 2004.
