Polycomb-mediated silencing of miR-8 is required for maintenance of intestinal stemness in Drosophila melanogaster
IMBB researchers showed that the balance between intestinal stem cell renewal and differentiation is regulated epigenetically by a dynamic interplay between Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2), the microRNA miR-8 and Notch signaling, that holds implications for treating intestinal diseases.
