    George Papagiannakis

    George Papagiannakis has studied Biology in the University of Athens and since 1989 has been working as research assistant in the Genome Research Facility of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB-FORTH).

    He has participated in several genome mapping and sequencing projects (fruitfly and mosquito genome, medfly mitochondrial genome) as well as custom sequence contracts.

    In 2006 he becomes a member of transcriptomics facility and was involved in the establishment of microarrays (spotted and Affymetrix arrays) and suitable bioinformatics approaches .

    In 2012 he joined the sequencing facility lab of the IMBB, providing Next Generation sequencing services and analysis support to users, using Ion torrent sequencing platform.
