Acquisition of cell fates in the Drosophila gut

In collaboration with Prof. Aristidis Eliopoulos (Medical School, National Kapodistrian University of Athens), we have performed RNAi-based screens of epigenomic regulators and have found that they affect the ability of adult ISCs to proliferate, as well as the balance between ECs and EE production. We are studying how this chromatin-based regulation interfaces with known players in adult gut regeneration, like the Notch pathway and the Scute proneural TF.
