Bodossakis Prize
IMBB researcher receives the Bodossakis Foundation Scientific Prize! The scientific prizes of the Bodossakis Foundation, for the year 2005, have been awarded! By giving these prizes, the Foundation is trying to reinforce the creative work of the young Greek scientists, to reward their continuous and consistent try to develop science and civilization, to honor their national stature and to contribute to the creation of new standards in the Greek community. In the academic field of Medicine and Biology, in the section of Neurosciences, the prize has been awarded to the I.M.B.B. researcher, Nektarios Tavernarakis. Tavernarakis' research focuses in the fields of Neurodegeneration as well as in Sensory Transduction and Integration of touch receptors. It is worth noting that there is great competition and that these prizes are usually given to Greek scientists living abroad. It is also important that this is the second continual year that researchers of FO.R.T.H. have being awarded the Bodossakis prize (Theofanis Kitsopoulos - Academic Field of Science - 2004).
