    MINOTECH biotechnology  is the in-house biotechnology production facility of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in Crete, Greece, founded in 1986.     MINOTECH biotechnology has over 28 years of experience specialized in production of bacterial-derived proteins. We produce a wide array of high purity and superior quality Restriction Endonucleases, DNA Modifying Enzymes and Molecular Weight Markers that aim to meet the needs of scientists engaged in Research, the Biotechnology Industry and the Clinical Laboratory. Our products are cited in more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and are supplied to customers directly or under OEM agreements through major European, Asian and North American distributors.

    The proprietary protein purification procedures developed at MINOTECH and the thorough quality control (every batch is strictly tested) allow us to offer top quality products at the most competitive prices and fast delivery.

    An active R&D section has as a goal the extension of our product portfolio and the establishment of collaborations under Interdisciplinary research grants with the academia or industry.

    Core Activities

    • Production and distribution of 47 REs, DNA modifying enzymes (including Taq DNA polymerase, T4 DNA ligase) a series of DNA molecular weight markers and accompanying consumables.
    • Distribution of a range of ultra-pure products with very high specific activity (Cytokines, Specialty enzymes, Antibodies). These technologies and products were developed at Economou Lab, IMBB
    • Production of bacterial recombinant proteins tailored to customer's needs using our Fermentation facilities (30lt and 50lt fermentors) and state of the art protein purification systems.
    • Development of novel products.
    • Participation in Research Grants and establishment of new partnerships.
