"Researcher's Night 2025" will take place again this year at FORTH on Friday, September 26, 2025 (17:00-23:00). IMBB is actively participating with 14 groups. Visitors will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about the Ancient DNA Laboratory, Plant Physiology and Plant Resistance to Pathogens.
- How are tick-borne pathogens transmitted?
- Understand the mechanisms of insecticide resistance in disease vectors and agricultural pests, and learn how scientists at IMBB are exploring novel insecticide targets to control insects.
- Visitors will have the opportunity to attend a demonstration of portable diagnostic tools, developed in the Biosensors Laboratory, for the detection of viruses and microorganisms in humans, animals, and environmental samples (including water and plants)
- Furthermore, visitors will learn how fluorescent worms help unlock the secrets of ageing and disease.
- What type of cells is cancer comprised of?
- Using new technologies and Artificial Intelligence are exploited to find new biomarkers for cardiovascular Diseases?
- How nutritional and bioactive ingredients are defined in traditional Greek food?
- Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the developing brain and how scientists study Neurodegenerative Disorders in animal and human models.
- Finally, they will have the opportunity to find out how mice perceive objects and how scientists understand the process of learning and memory in the brain through experimental and computational models.
